In 2016, during the presidency of Mauricio Macri, it was announced the issuance of a new series with the inclusion of notes of greater denomination. On this occasion, they would not have political personalities in the design of the obverse.

The new family will have as themes the Argentina native fauna and various regions of the country. Each of the bills presented on the obverse the figure of a typical animals of the region and on the reverse the characteristic habitat of that species.

With this family banknote seeks to highlight the bounty of nature to Argentina and at the same time, emphasize the importance of preserving and promoting biodiversity.

With the election of wildlife and the Argentine regions, it is also seeking a meeting point where all Argentines can feel represented in the national currency.

The designs of the new family of banknotes "Peso" were conceived with vertical orientation in their obverse and landscape on their backs.
