The Central Bank of Argentina's primary and fundamental mission is to preserve the value of the Argentine currency by conducting a financial and monetary policy aimed at safeguarding all the functions of money, as provided in the BCRA Charter (Law N° 24144/92). It is empowered to mint numismatic or commemorative coins, which may be subject to regulations other than those applicable to the issuance of current notes and coins.
